Arc’teryx Automation

Precision-Built for Performance

Arc’teryx Automation showcases Orion Construction’s ability to deliver highly complex tenant improvements in active industrial environments with precision and control. This two-phase transformation converted an existing warehouse into a high-performance automated logistics hub, integrating complex systems such as an Auto Storage Robotic System (ASRS), VESDA air quality monitoring, and upgraded fire suppression infrastructure.

Orion’s scope included structural modifications, high-tolerance concrete work, specialized MEP coordination, and custom life safety upgrades—all delivered through seamless planning and collaboration within an active industrial facility.

Project Highlights

Disruption-Free Delivery: All work was completed without impacting Arc’teryx’s live distribution activities, reflecting Orion’s disciplined planning and proactive coordination.

Integrated Innovation: The project demanded advanced coordination of structural, mechanical, and fire protection systems to accommodate robotics, air monitoring, and specialized suppression infrastructure.

Reliable Delivery: Clear communication, forward-looking planning, and accountability at every level earned the client’s trust and drove consistent progress.

High-Performing Site Leadership: Orion’s field team upheld a culture of respect and precision—balancing speed, quality, and safety in a high-stakes environment.

Scope of Work

The project began with precision floor levelling to meet the tolerance requirements of the ASRS, followed by installation of a suspended T-bar ceiling and upgraded lighting systems tailored to automated operations. Orion also implemented a new fire suppression system and integrated the VESDA smoke detection system to enable real-time environmental monitoring. Structural modifications were completed to support the robotic infrastructure.

In the second phase, Orion constructed a dedicated fire pump room to meet ASRS sprinkler demand, created a new fire-rated exit corridor, expanded the mechanical and electrical systems, and rerouted water lines from the ASRS zone through the facility with exterior venting. The work concluded with concrete placement and drain tie-ins to support the upgraded fire safety systems.
